Below is a suggested order for completing courses for Ordination:

*It is highly recommended that the six classes to become a District Licensed Minister should be completed before moving on to the more advanced courses.

The six courses are:

1. Old Testament Introduction
2. New Testament Introduction
3. Wesleyan History/Discipline

4. Introduction to Theology
5. Introduction to Homiletics
6. Church Leadership/Management

Other suggestions:

Take Introduction to Homiletics before Expository Preaching

Take Introduction to Theology before Advanced Theology

Students should also attempt to take Methods of Bible Study as early in their studies as possible. This course will be a tremendous help for the Bible elective classes as well as in the preaching classes. Supervised Ministry may be taken at any time during the student's course of study.

To register for a class or for more information contact the Ministry Center at 785-440-0233. Request a syllabus today!  The deadline to sign up for each class will be on the syllabus.  It is very important to sign up by the deadline.  In order to have the class 5 students must be signed up!

Please note: KMAT will only offer the six courses listed above. All other course work required to complete the educational requirements for ordination can be completed by participating in one of the FLAME classes.

FLAME

Fellowship of Leaders Acquiring Ministerial Education

The guiding principles for FLAME participants are: (1) A renewed and refreshed spiritual walk. At FLAME students will experience worship, testimonies, prayer groups and conversations about the call to ministry .... (2) Making new friends and establishing ministry networks at FLAME. Attendees will meet many new people and will find abundant opportunities to make some new friends. Students will also find that they will learn a great deal from one another about ministry and life by networking together during and after FLAME. (3) Top notch practical ministerial preparation. FLAME features great professors who care about each student and are passionate about the material that they teach.
